Activities
The program offers a healthy mix of academics and fun. We balance hands-on learning
with time for relaxation and a wide variety of activities. This rounds-out the Centenary
residential experience.
During the afternoon hours students can jump into a game of soccer or Frisbee on the
quad; head to the recreation center for swimming, court games or working out; or relax
with friends, read a book, and play games in the lounges. Students can also join small
groups for walks around Victorian Hackettstown and take in all that the quaint downtown
area has to offer. Here, they can grab a slice of pizza or an ice cream, visit the
many shops, or hang out in one of the cafes on Main Street.
For the evening time, resident advisors organize a number of activities that allow all the
students to come together and have fun. This may include anything from lawn games
and spirit wars, to special seminars and discussions, to karaoke or casino night. Activities
are always safe and supervised, and they allow students from different program
tracks to meet and get to know each other in ways that are different from the roommate
and classroom experiences.
The afternoon and evening activities and the residential experience allow students to
connect with each other and with staff members and to make lasting friendships.
