Sketching & Stitching

Weeks 1 & 3
A perfect class for the budding fashion designer. In sketching, students learn the basics of drawing fashion figures. Templates are provided to help students get started, then they create their own poses, and experiment with technique and style. In stitching, students learn to read a commercial pattern, layout and cut fabric properly, use commercial sewing machines, and finish seams. They also learn many hand sewing techniques. Students create a mini fashion collection to add to their port- folios and complete two fantastic projects to take home.

Project Centenary

Weeks 2 & 4
Feel the drama mount as you find yourself in your own reality fashion week at Project Centenary. Based on the hit series Project Runway, students take on challenges that test their creativity, design skills and endurance. The winning designers that met the judge’s criteria receive a prize. So, designers, get ready to bring it, all or nothing and make it work.

We recommend students take one week of each focus, to continue to build their skills.
