Social Sciences - Bachelor of Arts in Sociology

The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Centenary College provides students with a strong foundation in sociological theory and research methods. Students may choose from a variety of course offerings in specialized fields such as the family, gender studies, human services, deviance, and education.

Students majoring in Sociology may also choose to concentrate in Criminal Justice, Gender Studies or Human Services. The program encourages students to develop first-hand experience in their field of interest through internships and externships offered in conjunction with the Centenary College Career Center.

Sociology is the systematic study of social life, social change and human behavior. Students seeking a degree in sociology are prepared for careers in a variety of fields, including non-profit organizations, social services, government, health agencies, business, public relations and teaching.
