Cyclone Golf Outing

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (July 13, 2010) – The Centenary athletic department will hold its annual Cyclone Golf Outing on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at the Panther Valley Golf & Country Club in Allamuchy, N.J. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m., and will include breakfast, greens fees and a cart, a cocktail hour/dinner and tournament gifts. All proceeds will benefit the Centenary College Athletic Turf Field Fund.

Panther Valley Golf & Country Club was originally a part of the estate of Clendenin James Ryan Jr., grandson of Thomas "Fortune" Ryan, a New York City financier who was recorded as the last of the robber barons of Wall Street. The estate was known as Panther Ledge Farm. Panther Ledge Farm was a 4,000 acre cattle farm where black angus cows were bred and raised. In 1967, Robert Trent Jones was retained to design an 18-hole championship quality golf course. After many meetings, the course development was started in 1968. Nine holes were opened in the Spring of 1969 and by October the full eighteen holes were played. For directions and more information log on to www.panthervalleyclub.com.

Registration breakfast will begin at 9:30am on Oct. 8. The shotgun start tournament will kick off at 11:00am, followed by a cocktail hour and dinner with awards and the raffle/silent auction at 4:00pm.
