Hackettstown, N.J.- Centenary College, in cooperation with Triway International Group, Falls Church, Va., was recently host to twenty-one Directors, Deputy Directors, and Chiefs from the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Public Security.  The Executives came from the Ministry Headquarters in Beijing and from fifteen different provinces in China.  They attended a seminar entitled Police Emergency Preparedness and Agency Interaction, and Police Crisis Communications.  The seminar was presented by Dr. Joseph P. Linskey, Dean of the College’s School of International Programs and Professor of Criminal Justice and Sociology, and Dr. Jeffrey J. Carter, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Public Administration and Director of the Graduate Program in Leadership & Public Administration.

Topics of discussion included procedures used in the United States system of policing in responding to large scale emergencies, how the different levels of U.S. law enforcement interact in investigating such incidents, and how American police interact with the various media sources to effectively provide accurate information to the public.

After completing the seminar Deputy Director General Hua Jingfeng, of the Ministry of Public Security, said “the delegation had a wonderful experience at Centenary and it was great to talk to lecturers with actual experience in the police system.”
