Centenary College Plans Earth Day Science Fair in April
Hackettstown, N.J. –The Centenary College Omega Rho chapter of the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society will be holding a regional Earth Day Science Fair for kindergarten through 8th grade students from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, in the Front Parlours of the Edward W. Seay Administration Building. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
Science offers children experiences in exploration beyond the classroom to understand more about their world. Investigating a selected science topic in detail can open up new vistas and a new appreciation for not only this planet, but the worlds beyond. The main goal of the science fair is to stimulate children’s curiosity about the world and to help them think about science in a fun way. Tri Beta’s main purposes include encouraging an interest in scientific research in the community, and involving students from different school districts, as well as home-schooled students, in this great learning experience.
Registration forms and a $15 registration fee are due by March 22, 2013, and can be found online at www.centenarycollege.edu/earthday. Each participant will receive an Earth Day Science Fair T-shirt. Visit the website for instructions and suggestions, as these guidelines will give participants some ideas on how to create an effective project, as well as additional information about the fair. Set up for the event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013.
This event is part of the Earth Day Celebrations that will take place on the Centenary campus April 27, 2013.
