Centenary College Sports Management Class Raises Funds for the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County

Hackettstown, N.J. – Some Centenary College first year students recently hosted their first 3-on-3 basketball game to raise money for the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County (DASACC). This program was made possible by the efforts of the Sports Management Academic Foundations Course, taught by David Perricone, Assistant Professor of Sports Management at Centenary College.

This project allowed these students to give back to their community and raise money for a great cause. In order to play in game, each team, which consisted of Centenary students, had to have three people and donate $10 per team. Twenty teams participated, allowing the class to raise $200 for the center. The students were enthusiastic to be part of such a great event that they decided that they would continue running this fundraiser every year until they graduate.

“I am so pleased that this class decided to run this fundraiser for the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center and they have a long-term commitment to the organization,” says Jackie Schwier, Primary Prevention Coordinator for DASACC.  “These funds will be used to fund holiday gifts for the children that we service.”
