The Greene's Beans Cafe at Centenary College is Open to Members of the Community
Hackettstown, N.J. – Members of the community can enjoy a latté or a special blend blizzard at the Taylor Memorial Library at Centenary College’s new Greene’s Beans Café as part of a new partnership between the two organizations.
“This is a wonderful partnership that shows the strength of the town-gown relationships between Centenary and local businesses,” says Dr. Barbara-Jayne Lewthwaite, President of Centenary College. “This will be a great resource for students and members of the community alike.”
This endeavor will be a kiosk site for the café, which is currently located on Route 517 in Hackettstown and in Sparta. Customers will have the opportunity to purchase various specialty coffees, teas, smoothies and cold beverages at this location. In addition, fruit, pastries and muffins will be for sale.
The manager of the Centenary location is Kelsey Walter, a recent Centenary alumna and graduate student and a longtime employee of Greene’s Beans.
“This opportunity is like a dream come true for me,” says Walter. “I have a passion for this business and to be able to continue to work locally and do what I love best is quite exciting.”
The café hours primarily mirror the Library hours with patio side window service starting at 7:30 a.m. Regular hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Parking is available at the David and Carol Lackland Center located at 715 Grand Avenue in Hackettstown.
The Greene brothers have been roasting specialty grade coffee in small batches since 1995 with a focus on single origin and estate coffees, espresso and signature blends.
Café customers are also encouraged to check out the recently renovated library and enjoy their coffee on the library patio. Residents of Hackettstown are also entitled to a free library card for Taylor Memorial Library.
