General Graduation Requirement

As a student of Centenary College you are required to perform a minimum of ten (10) hours of community service during your career here.  In order to graduate you must complete these hours and submit the appropriate form to the community service office.

There are many opportunities for you to complete the required hours, including participation in the annual Community Plunge during orientation or our long standing Midnight Run. In addition to these two great programs, there is variety of opportunities both on and off campus.

As always, if you are unsure about your service hours, please check in with the community service office!

Scholarship

Some of the scholarships awarded through Centenary have a community service component.  Depending on the award you (the student) may have to do up to fifteen (15) hours of service per semester.

If you are receiving a scholarship that you think may have a community service requirement you should contact the admissions office to confirm the number of hours you must complete to retain your award.  You can find their website here.

Judicial Sanctions

In many instances, if you (the student) are found in violation of Centenary policies regarding conduct you will face a judicial sanction that may or may not include monetary fines and/or community service hours.

In the event that you are required to perform community service hours as part of a judicial sanction you must meet with the Community Service Office or a cooperating office.

Hours must be logged via a Community Service Verification Form available in person at the Community service office, or online

For more information regarding policy and procedure at Centenary please review the Student Handbook.
