Dr. Linskey is a Professor of Criminal Justice & Sociology. Prior to assuming his position as Dean of International Programs, he served as the Coordinator of the Criminal Justice Studies program, Director of the Master of Arts in Leadership & Public Administration program, and Chair of the Department of Social Sciences. He is a retired captain of police, having had service in, and command of, the patrol, investigative, and administrative divisions of the Franklin Township Police Department in Somerset County, New Jersey.  Included in these years of service were 7 1/2 years as a fatal accident investigator. At time of retirement, he was second in command of the department.
Concurrently were 10 years of service as a hostage negotiator with the Somerset County Emergency Response Team. Dr. Linskey was a founding instructor of the Somerset County Police Academy, where he continues to instruct. He served as a lead instructor for the New Jersey Regional Community Policing Institute and is a Certified Law Enforcement Planner. He is a member of the New Jersey Association of Criminal Justice Educators, and is a past president, treasurer, and secretary of that organization. He consults and lectures nationally on the police sciences and has served as a visiting professor at Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, Korea. Primary areas of research include police leadership & supervision, and community policing, having published in both of these areas.
Dr. Linskey is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served 4 years as a military police officer during the Vietnam War.
