A Commitment to Part Time Students

The attention we provide to our Part Time students is exceptional. Your Centenary Part Time counselor will guide you through the admissions process and also serve as your interim Academic Advisor.

You will be personally guided from pre-application to the selection and start of your classes. Your counselor will try to work around your availability because many students have responsibilities that go beyond their studies.

Part Time students may register for up to 11 credits per semester. Classes are available during the day and evening. Centenary College also offers popular Summer sessions to complement our Fall and Spring Semesters.

A minimum of 128 credits are required to earn a Bachelor degree from Centenary College. 72 credits may be transferred from a community college. 96 credits may be transferred from another Bachelor degree granting institution. You must complete 32 credits at Centenary College to meet our residency requirement.

Centenary College offers rolling admissions for both Fall and Spring Semesters. Completing the admissions process at least one semester in advance before coming to Centenary will give you priority in registering for classes.

Completing Your Application

Once your file is complete, the Admissions Committee will review it and make a decision regarding admission. Students accepted for admission are notified and then may register for classes.

At the point when your course work is completed at the transferring institution and a final transcript is received by Centenary College, our Audit Evaluator will conduct an official evaluation of your credits. These will be posted to your Centenary College transcript.

Accepted students have up to one year to enroll. After that time, students must reapply.

Jennilee Joost, Transfer and Part-time Admissions Counselor

Jennilee Joost was a transfer student from Warren County Community College and Bucks County Community College. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Centenary College with concentrations in Management and Marketing and a minor in Political Science.  She states, “The wealth of this educational range was due to the direct influence of the great professors and advisors.”

Jennilee also claims she was only an average student but, “I was able to grow academically because of the  individual attention I received as a student, and Centenary offers so many safety nets --- tutors, Academic Services, and additional help from the faculty.”  She is now pursuing a Master's Degree in Business Administration at Centenary College.

She started her path towards becoming a Transfer and Part-time Counselor by working in the Transfer Admissions Office for two years as a work-study student. Ms. Joost was interested in working with transfer students since she herself was very familiar with the fears of transferring to a new institution. This experience helps her to be a mentor for transfer students as her counselors were to her.

Jennifer Novak received her MA from Seton Hall University in International Relations in 2001, and also holds a BA from Kean University in History and an AA from Raritan Valley Community College in Social Science.

Jennifer first came to Centenary College as an adjunct instructor in the history department; a position she enjoys greatly and still holds part time. Later she became a Program Advisor for the CAPS program and for main campus part time students. With the college’s continued expansion Jennifer was able to assume the new position of Transfer and Part time Admissions Counselor.

"Having been a transfer student, I understand the concerns of transfer students. I do my best to ensure that each student is comfortable and has a firm understanding of what their path at Centenary College will be." As an instructor Jennifer sees and understands the importance of the diversity transfer and part time students bring to the classroom. She is committed to see students succeed at Centenary College and remains available and supportive to her students long after the admissions process is complete.
