![]() Academic Success CenterDept Head: Dr. Sandra Moore, Dean of Students for Academic Support The Academic Success Center, located in the Harris and Betts Smith Learning Center, is the primary source of academic support programs on campus. The Disabilities Services Office and the EOF Program are part of the services offered. Students can request academic coaching including goal setting and time management training through the Academic Success Center. Our Disability Services and Educational Opportunity Fund programs also provide support services to our Centenary students and are located within the Academic Success Center. The Academic Success Center holds a variety of success strategy workshops. These workshops teach students strategies to improve their organizational skills both inside and out of the classroom. During the Spring 2010 semester, students can attend the following workshops: Weekly Success tips are also distributed to all students via email and archived in Blackboard. These tips provide students with information concerning test anxiety, group projects, etc. All of the services provided by the Academic Success Center are free. The Academic Success Center looks to assist all students in achieving their fullest academic potential through the personalized attention each student receives. Graduate students interested in receiving tutoring should contact their academic advisor. HUB: "Home of the Tutoring and Writing Center"Director of Learning Support: Suzanne McCarthy Students are encouraged to be active participants in both their professional and peer tutoring sessions and experiment with a variety of ideas through brainstorming. The sessions are interactive and work to empower students rather than enable them. Online Writing Lab (OWL) Online tutoring is also available for students whose schedule prohibits a face to face meeting with a HUB peer tutor. This service allows students to submit writing for peer review. It is used extensively by Centenary's students to assist in successful writing. |
