Curriculum

The goal of Centenary College is to provide an educational program that balances liberal arts study with their chosen career program. The ultimate goal of any chosen career program at Centenary College is for the student to obtain one of the many undergraduate degrees Centenary College offers. If you are looking for undergraduate degrees in New Jersey, look no further than Centenary College!

The College's curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, or the Bachelor of Science degree is organized into three parts:

  • The College's Core Requirements - These include a specific number of courses from the liberal arts disciplines, which guarantees a minimal uniformity of study without sacrificing the individual educational interests of the student.

  • The Major - Majors are designed to give the student mastery of a single field, and to introduce that student to a field of possible professional involvement. A student usually selects a major during his or her freshman or sophomore year. The student also has the option of selecting a minor or a special concentration to go along with the major field of study.

  • Course Electives - To round out the curriculum, electives are divided between liberal arts studies and free electives chosen by the student in consultation with his or her advisor.

Rolling Admissions

Our admissions process is designed to help you make the right choice quickly and easily. A rolling admissions procedure allows us to evaluate your file as soon as it is complete, and notify you within a few weeks of the Admission Committee's decision. Scholarships, financial aid, and housing are all available.

Our Early Action deadline is December 15th.*

* Early Action is a non-binding agreement. It means if your son or daughter has been accepted at Centenary College,  they can choose to attend Centenary immediately or wait until the spring semester to decide. This is different from Early Decision, where even though the student may apply to other colleges, if he or she is accepted by the first-choice college early your child must withdraw all other applications.
