Centenary College has welcomed, nurtured, supported and educated generations of international students since it was founded in 1867. Relationships with sister colleges in the Far East date back to the mid-1980’s.

Today, students at both undergraduate and graduate levels come to Centenary from over 20 countries, making up almost 15% of the student population. As a nationally ranked small independent college, we offer international students a quality academic experience in a safe, suburban setting, with customized learning support and attention that is the hallmark of a Centenary education.

Summer Cultural Institute

Centenary College’s Summer Culture and Language Program is designed for non-native speakers of English preparing to attend American colleges and universities. Learn more about the Summer Culture and Language Program

International Student Organization

The student-run International Student Organization(ISO) provides support to all international students. The Organization ensures that international students are kept updated on issues that might affect them, schedules trips and events, and acts as advocates for international students on the campus. International Studies Department

The International Studies Department provides support and guidance for students, helps them choose their majors and programs, and assists with planning for post-graduate studies.

Rolling Admissions

Centenary operates on a rolling admissions process. That means that your application can be reviewed as soon as it is completed.

Athletics and Equestrian Center

If you play a varsity sport and want to continue or you just want to play sports during your college career, we offer 12 men and women’s NCAA Division III athletic teams and numerous intramural sports programs. Soccer, baseball, and basketball teams offer numerous opportunities for International Students to participate in a team sport. Our Equestrian Studies Program and Riding Center is nationally ranked, offering indoor and outdoor arenas, cross-country courses and first-class training.

Engelhard Corporation International Center

The Engelhard Corporation International Center in Smith Hall provides domestic and international students with a living and learning environment in which to share perspectives in the context of global education.

Centenary Wireless Experience

The Centenary Wireless Experience provides each international student with a laptop computer, wireless access to the Internet and special software to allow them to write in their native languages while learning English. The internet access helps them stay in touch with their families and friends at home, bringing their American experience back to their homeland and offering their American friends ties to cultures they might not otherwise have personal experiences exploring. Centenary provides an automated, integrated library system and five networked computer labs.

Support Services

Centenary offers a full spectrum of academic and social support services for our International Students. Faculty routinely host receptions and travel with our international students to major historical and cultural destination in the United States.
