Starting an Organization

Congratulations!  You have already taken the first step toward developing an active organization on campus.

If you are interested in starting a new student organization, take the opportunity to gauge interest prior to completing all registration requirements. You may reserve meeting space on campus for an interest meeting. Notify Student Activities if you would like to reserve space to hold an interest meeting on campus for a potential student organization. An interest meeting is defined as a meeting to explain the purpose of the organization, identify individuals interested in forming the organization and completing the requirements of registration (i.e. complete SGA application). You may post on campus to advertise the interest meeting. Postings must be approved and stamped or they will be taken down.  Please email or bring your posting to Student Activities and indicate that it is a posting for a potential student organization.

If you have questions about the process or are having trouble meeting people who may be interested in your group, make an appointment with Tiffany Kushner, Director of Student Activities, we are happy to help you develop a plan for getting your new group off the ground.
