![]() Academic Scholarships for Traditional Undergraduate StudentsCentenary College offers a variety of scholarships to our Freshmen and Transfer students. We offer a wide range of options that make available the greatest amount of financial assistance to the broadest number of students. All prospective students will be considered, regardless of financial need. The number of awards in each category is limited. Preference will be given to early applicants. Annual scholarships may be offered to entering freshmen who have a minimum of 2.5 academic GPA and a minimum 850 critical reading and math score on the SAT. These scholarships are renewable provided the student shows evidence of good citizenship and demonstrates satisfactory progress toward their degree. Freshman Scholarships and AwardsAchievement AwardsAchievement Awards are awarded to entering freshmen who have done well in a strong academic high school program and who have competitive SAT or ACT scores. Cyclone AwardsCyclone Awards recognize the academic achievement and potential of entering freshmen. Leadership AwardsOur leadership award is given to applicants with a minimum 2.0 GPA who have demonstrated leadership ability or potential. An annual community service project is required. Merit ScholarshipsMerit scholarships are awarded to entering freshmen who have shown excellent academic achievement. Presidential ScholarshipsPresidential Scholarships are the most prestigious scholarships offered to entering freshmen who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Transfer Scholarships and AwardsPhi Theta Kappa ScholarshipsPhi Theta Kappa Scholarships are awarded to entering transfer students who have earned the distinction of Phi Theta Kappa membership, and who have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA. Students must have at least 32 credits of full-time study remaining towards the Centenary degree. Transfer AwardsTransfer Awards may be awarded to entering transfer students who have a cumulative 2.5 GPA. Students must have a minimum of 32 credits of full-time study remaining towards their degree. Special Scholarships and AwardsUnited Methodist Academic ScholarshipsCentenary College is historically related to the United Methodist Church. We make the United Methodist Academic Scholarship available to students who are confirmed, active members of the Methodist Church. Centenary College offers fifteen scholarships with individual awards up to $12,500 each year. These scholarships are renewable for up to four years provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.
