This modification supports the student centered learning environment that is fostered at Centenary College, the fastest growing institution in the State of New Jersey. A benefit of this curriculum change includes allowing professors to integrate additional experiential learning into the curriculum as a result of the added class hour per week through various methods including guest lecture opportunities, presentations, on-line discussions, field trips and field assignments. “This change in curriculum will allow each professor the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject matter than ever before, plus they have the creative authorization regarding how to accomplish that,” says Nancy Paffendorf, associate dean of academic policy and programs. Examples of changes in course curricula include creating math games for basic math courses and using labs for Quantitative Reasoning. In addition, it facilitates the process for students to graduate in four years without needing to enroll in six courses a semester or taking extra summer classes. Students enrolled in four classes each semester will graduate in eight semesters. Download a copy of the 4-Credit Core Curriculum Requirements |
