Welcome to life as a Centenary College student!

All undergraduate students at Centenary College are provided a laptop for their academic use while enrolled as a full time student (p.s. the professors know when you are not paying attention or are updating your myspace account). The laptop will become one of your most important tools while you build a future for yourself. You will have the opportunity to learn at any hour, to discover information from sources on the other side of the globe, and to be part of a digital as well as physical community.

The first step you will need to take is to begin to use your Blackboard account. Blackboard is the course and community management system at Centenary and is the main way you will receive your class notes, assignments, syllabi, campus information, and email. Checking this website will begin to get you acquainted with life as a Centenary student. We will be sending the majority of your orientation information to you via this system.

To access your account, please:

  • Go to www.centenarycollege.edu and look for the Blackboard logo on the bottom right side.
  • Enter your user name in the box labeled "Username". This information is included in the information package mailed to your home.
  • Enter your password in the box labeled "Password". This is also included in the information package mailed to your home. Be sure to type in your password exactly as it is printed.

You may, at this point, choose to personalize your password. This is to ensure that only you can access your information.

When you create a new password, be sure to use at least one capitalized letter and one number. If you do not do this the system will not accept the change.

Try for something easy to remember but difficult to guess. For example, pets, family, hobbies and personal numbers are always a good place to start.

Keep it to around six or eight characters."FluFFythemostaDorAble" would be too long.

Once you are in your Blackboard account please feel free to explore! Should you have any questions or if you are having difficulty with your account please contact me.

Enjoy the start of the summer and keep a close eye on your blackboard account as information will be coming out soon regarding summer orientation, class selection, housing, and more!
