Adult Learners Scholarships

AAIA Displaced Homemaker Scholarship:  The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Displaced Homemaker Scholarships in the amount of $1000 each, to those men and women who would not otherwise be able to complete their educational goals due to family responsibilities. Funds may be used to assist with child care, transportation and basic living expenses, etc. in addition to educational costs. Disbursement is made during the first semester. Applicants must be full time students. This scholarship does not automatically renew. Students are eligible to apply on a yearly basis. Deadline for application is July 20.

Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Program:  The program provides financial support and guidance to adults in the community who are in a variety of transitional situations. AFCEA Scholarship for Working Professionals:  The scholarship will provide $1,500 to those students pursuing an undergraduate degree while employed in the science and technology disciplines directly related to the mission of AFCEA. Candidates must be at least second-year students attending an accredited college or university in the United States. The scholarship is intended for students attending school on a part-time basis, whether at a two-year community college or a four-year institution. Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society:  Seven awards of $1000.00 awarded to Any student at an institution that has an Alpha Sigma Lambda Chapter and who has achieved the following criteria:

  • Completed 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of graded coursework at the institution (Not including transfer credits)
  • Achieved an overall grade point average of 3.4 on all graded coursework to date
  • Is 24 yrs of age or older
  • Is enrolled in a baccalaureate or associates degree program at the matriculating institution
  • Has a financial need for assistance in completing the degree

Student applicants do not have to be members of Alpha Sigma Lambda to apply.

Charles R. Ford Scholarship:  One (1) scholarship awarded annually, available to an active member of the Jaycees who wishes to return to a college or university to complete his or her formal education. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States, possess academic potential and leadership qualities, and show financial need. The scholarship is a one-time award of $2,500 sent directly to the recipient's college or university of choice. The award is to be applied as credit for tuition, books, laboratory fees, or other academic costs, and room and board when housed under control of the institution involved.

Datatel Angelfire Scholarship:  Honoring soldiers who have served during combat, the Angelfire scholarship is for outstanding student currently attending an eligible Datatel client institution, who served the US military, in the Asian theater (Vietnam, Cambodia, or Laos) during the 1964-1975 time-frames or in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Full and part-time students (taking at least six credit hours) are eligible to apply.  Award amounts range from $1,000 to $2,400 depending on the institution.

Datatel Returning Student Scholarship:  For outstanding students currently attending an eligible Datatel client institution who have returned to school after an absence of five years or longer.  Full- and part-time (taking at least six credit hours) students are eligible to apply.

The top rated fifty applications for the Returning Student scholarship are awarded $1,500 each.

Golden Key’s Geico Life Scholarship: This award recognizes outstanding members of Golden Key who achieve academic excellence while balancing additional commitments such as family and/or career. Ten $1,000 awards awarded annually.

Kazimour Scholarship:  Dr. Kim Kazimour and ANTSHE (Association of Nontraditional Students in Higher Education) sponsor the annual Kazimour Scholarship which gives three $500 Awards, two for undergraduate students (two-year and four-year) and one for a graduate student.  Applicant must be an ANTSHE member.

The Non-Traditional Student Scholarship:  These scholarships are available for a student returning to the classroom after some period of time in which his/her formal schooling was interrupted or a student who has had at least one year of college and is in need of financial assistance to pursue an undergraduate degree. The applicant must me a member of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion.  The student must be enrolled in at least six hours per semester or four hours per quarter. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in each Division.

Royal Neighbors of America, Nontraditional Scholarships:  RNA's "nontraditional" scholarship program provides educational support to members who don't fall into the usual college age range. Fifteen scholarships are open to persons age 23 and older. Two scholarship amounts are available: $500 for part-time students and $1,000 for full-time students.

The Wal-Mart Higher REACH Scholarships:   These are awarded to non-traditional students who have been employed by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. for at least one year as of February 1. Winners may receive up to $2,000 payable over one year (award amount varies depending on part-time or full-time enrollment).To be eligible for the program, candidates must be able to identify their career goals and objectives along with meeting the necessary educational and financial requirements.*
