If you were issued a Centenary laptop, please be informed that if you do not return your Centenary laptop you will NOT be allowed to participate in the commencement ceremony.  You must FIRST return your laptop to the Helpdesk office on the 2nd floor of the Seay building.  Please be sure to return your laptop as soon as possible to ensure that you are able to walk for commencement and do not receive a transcript hold.

Exception:

If you will be returning to Centenary next semester as a full-time undergraduate student, you may continue to keep and use your laptop. 

If this is the case, please send an email to kellym@centenarycollege.edu so the proper arrangements can be made. 

Please note that you are only eligible for a laptop as a full time undergraduate student, so if you are returning as a part time student or as a graduate student you must still return your laptop.

There are now three options available to you:

1) Card Program Information - This will take you to the information page for the Cyclone Card System.

2) Participating Businesses - This will take you to an up-to-date list of participating local businesses.  This is hosted by the Hackettstown BID.

3) Manage Your Card - This will take you to the Cyclone Card management page where you or a family member can add money to your card.

There has been an increase in phishing emails as of the past two weeks. These emails claim to be from the Centenary College Helpdesk. DO NOT REPLY TO THESE MESSAGES! Already replied to one? Change your password immediately and you will be ok. The Helpdesk will never be used for your password or personal information.

If you suspect an email to be fraudulent or spam, please do the following:
               

FROM OUTLOOK…

1. Open a new email message and address it to abuse@centenarycollege.edu
2. Then drag the suspected email to the “body” area of the new email, this will make the suspected message an attachment 
3. After the suspected message has been attached, send the email and we will analyze it and update the filters
4. Delete the email

FROM WEBMAIL… (Only works from Internet Explorer)    

1. Open the spam message
2. Select “Message Details”
3. Copy the entire contents of the “Internet Mail Headers” box
4. Close the “Message Details” pop up and then select the “forward” button 
5. Paste the “Internet Mail Headers” info you copied into the message field and then forward the message to abuse@centenarycollege.edu 
6. Delete the email

This new feature will make it much easier for those who need access your Cyclone Card account to add money.

Before anyone can add to your account you need to click the link located in the list on the left side of your My.Centenary Landing page.  (Red Arrow)  This will create a valid account for you.  Without creating the account you will not receive email notification when someone other than yourself adds funds.

Please Note:

Your Account ID number is now the first nine digits of the number located on the lower, right-hand corner of the back of your My Cyclone Card.

For someone outside of the college system to add funds the following link is used.

IT wants to take a moment to remind you about a couple of services we offer. (We recommend you add these links to your favorites list.)

• E2campus is an emergency notification system that the college uses to notify staff, faculty, and students of security and safety related issues.  School closings, weather emergencies, and construction concerns.
• Please be sure to sign up for at least one SMS and one email notification type.
• Remember: You MUST renew your subscription every year.  Please take a minute to log into your account and renew.  There are links available if you have forgotten your user name and password.
2. Password Security – www.centenarycollege.edu/password
• In the event you have forgotten your log-in password this system will assist you in resetting your password without needing to contact IT.  Please be sure to complete this information.
3. IT online help – www.centenarycollege.edu/its
• IT has created an online resource
4. IT Service Hours:
• Walk-ins are open Monday – Friday from 8am to 7pm.
• Phones are answered Monday – Friday from 8am to 8pm.
• Saturday and Sundays - Messages left on the voicemail system are periodically checked and calls are returned.
5. My.Centenary
• Finally we’d like to remind you that My.Centenary will always have the most up to date information available.  Please be sure to check My.Centenary at least once a day for updates.

The Holidays are here and when the New Year rolls around a select group of you will have access to the Beta testing of our new course management system Moodle. 

If you are a professor or a student who has been chosen for the Beta Testing of Moodle you will be receiving an email shortly discussing Moodle in more detail!

1) Submitting Maintenance Requests

You can now find a link to the ISIS Maintenance Request in the pop up directory of My.Centenary. Simply hover over the directory link and scroll down the pop up until you find Facilities. Then click the dark blue link called "Submit maintenance request."

2) Online Catalog

IT has created a fully search-able and interactive online catalog. This catalog is in Wiki format and is open to the world for use. There are several locations to find this tool:

A) My.Centenary - Click the Link to Course Offerings, Catalog & Registrar

B) On the Registrar's Office Page - Clicking the links marked with red will take you directly to the Centenary Wiki. Clicking the link marked in green will take you to the previous years' catalog.

C) The College Website Landing Page - A link under the Parents & Family Section

At the bottom of My.Centenary you can find the our website "www.centenarycollege.edu" in blue. Clicking this hyperlink will take you from My.Centenary to our main website.

The biggest changes are:

• Each individual email message now links directly to the message in Outlook Web Access.  
•  A “Compose Message” link has been added that sends the user to the New Message page in Outlook Web Access.
• The “Refresh” button refreshes only the My Email section of the page.

Please Note:  This is only for event setup, any other IT related issues should be submitted through our email ticket system at helpdesk@centenarycollege.edu.

1. Currently, we have 70 administrators that are trained and posting daily on My.Centenary.
2. We are seeing an average of 3 – 4 new announcements per day with over 110 announcements since release date.
3. On 9/29 1507 different students logged into My.Centenary
4. Of the 2752 total students we have at Centenary only 86 students have never logged into the system!!  That means 99.7% of the student body is using My.Centenary to receive News & Announcements.
5. Increased resource activity.  – We’ve compared activity on the resource links on My.Centenary from this year and last year (when most of this information was held in Blackboard) and we have some outstanding results: (These results are for the month of August 23rd to September 23rd in both years)
   1. Vists to News and Announcements has gone from 1380 to 2171
   2. Visits to the Library Page has gone from 2275 to 3824
   3. Visits to the Library Information Databases has gone from 1484 to 2620
   4. Visits to the Financial Aid Page has gone from 604 to 1452
6. By 8:11 AM, on 9/30 there were already 241 students logged in!!!!!

Tips N' Tricks!  Don’t forget!

1.  You can make My.Centenary WORK FOR YOU!  Simply edit your settings and what announcements you see.  This is a great way to PERSONALIZE My.Centenary.  Just click “Change My Subscriptions”

2.   You can download any calendar event to your personal Outlook Calendar or Google Calendar!!!  If you sync these systems to your SmartPhone you can then receive reminders about an event on YOUR PHONE!

On Campus

2. Resident Students can check the availability of washers/dryers for a specific residence hall and receive email notifications when a machine is available at this location: http://centenarycollege-asi.esuds.net. 
3. Resident students will automatically receive email notifications sent to your Centenary College email address when your laundry service cycle has completed. 
4. ESUDS can only accept Cyclone dollar funds.

Off Campus

1. We have partnered with the Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID) to bring in other merchants.  Please visit their website often on community events and other information. http://www.hackettstownbid.com/
2. WIN BIG!  Beginning each month, your card# will be entered into a raffle to WIN a $25 deposit into your Cyclone Card account when you use your card at one of our local merchants who accept your Cyclone Card.  The more you use your card, the greater your chances are to win $25!!  The Office of Student Engagement Services or the BID will select the one winning card# at the beginning of each month starting October 1st.
3. We welcome Applebee’s this year to our Cyclone Card program for our off-campus merchants who accept the Cyclone Card!!  Please support our local merchants on the program!!

Important Note:

Alcohol can NOT be charged to your Cyclone card and a separate bill will have to be issued.  Please inform your server when seated.
If you are going to place a tip on your cyclone card inform your server ahead of time.  They will need to add the tip to your total bill so the business can process the entire transaction.

Beverages/Snacks:

You can use your Cyclone Card at the following vending locations for
Seay Administration Building (located on lower level in the hallway outside of the financial aid office)
Reeves Gymnasium
Equine Center
Parsippany Campus

Note: These vending machines have to be configured to accept the maximum price for the highest cost item and checks this against your Cyclone Card balance before it vends.  However, you will ONLY be charged for the product you actually purchase.  For example, if the balance on your Cyclone Card account only has $1 left and the highest cost item in that machine is $1.35, the machine will NOT vend for you even if you wanted to purchase an item for say .75¢. 

Payments

Payments (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover) to your Cyclone Card can be made online on the guest deposit page OR within your BlackBoard account when logged in. Statement information or to report your card lost/stolen can only be performed within BlackBoard 24x7 OR stopping into the Office of Student Engagement Services in the SEAY Administration Building (lower level rm#007).  Cash or Checks to apply to your Cyclone Card can only be performed in the business office.
