<span style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 11pt">Centenary College has several student groups on campus with an environmental focus.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>These groups have recently joined forces to create the “EVERGREEN group” which will be the umbrella organization for any student groups that focus on sustainability.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>The environmental group was formed in 2007 and focuses their efforts on reducing, reusing, and recycling materials on campus.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>They are active in local and national clean up events every semester.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>They also participate in a beach sweep event sponsored by Clean Ocean Action every year.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>Another student group under the umbrella is the Centenary College Community Garden.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>In the spring of 2011 this group broke ground and is currently harvesting produce from the garden.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>The ultimate goal of the community garden group is to be able to donate produce to families in need as well as get the community involved.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>This group has already demonstrated their commitment to community involvement by working with several organizations and community volunteers to plant and harvest the current produce.</span>
<span style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 11pt">The primary goal of the EVERGREEN group is to raise environmental awareness on campus and in the community, and to establish the Centenary College as an beacon in environmental stewardship through goal-oriented campaigns, activism, education, and the yearly presentation of Earth Day.</span>
<span style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 11pt">The group is looking for new members who care about the environment and want to join forces in our efforts for sustainability on campus. Our meetings are every Monday, at 4pm, in Trevorrow 22. The Math and Natural Sciences Department and the Teacher's Academy are hosting 4 seperate lectures on various hot topics in the Astronomy Realm.&nbsp; 
These lectures are being presented by <link http://www.uacnj.org/ - external-link-new-window "Opens external link in new window">The United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey</link>.&nbsp; The UACNJ website also supplies information on other Astronomy Related events across the state!
There is a fee at the door of&nbsp;$20/person, students are half price.&nbsp;
