The New ISO Representatives (2010-2011)
The International Student Organization (ISO) was founded in 1997 for global, muti-cultural exchanges within the Centenary community, including about a hundred students from all around the world. As the social, political and economic systems of different nations have become more interdependent and exchanges have become central to global solutions, students are required to be prepared for cross-cultural communication. Under the universal idea to contribute to the worldwide foundation of wisdom and knowledge, the ISO took flight to overcome cultural, racial and academic gaps, and to promote unity based on deep understanding. The mission of the International Student Organization (ISO) is to foster understanding about diversity and the various cultures among the Centenary College community at large, to provide an avenue to bridge the social gap among the students here at Centenary, and to provide a helping hand to the new incoming students in getting oriented to the USA.
For this 2010-2011 academic year, international students gathered and elected their representatives on September 22, 2010. The Office of International Programs (OIP) would like to proudly introduce the new ISO representatives to the entire Centenary community. We, the Office of International Programs, truly believe that the ISO representatives this year will make a difference and bring a wind of diversity to our campus. We also believe that the faculty’s/staff’s support help them function to the greatest extent and strive to play a part as the ultimate communication channel between international students and Americans.
