Hackettstown, N.J., – Centenary College professors not only lecture in the classroom, they practice what they preach.  Hyo-Chong Yoo, Associate Professor of Fine Arts and Associate Director of International Programs, is one of those creative professors.  Professor Yoo’s paintings will be featured in two art shows in the coming months: one in New York City and the other in Paris.

Her first show is a group show that she will participate in with fellow alumni from the College of Fine Arts, Ewha Woman’s University in Korea.  The group, Nokemee, have been participating in annual group shows in the New York area for several years.  Nokemee will be at the Maum Gallery in New York City from October 24, 2011, to November 5, 2011.

In late November, one of Professor Yoo’s work will be featured at the Art En Capital, Comparaison 2011 show at the Grand Palais Gallery, Champs Elysees, Paris, from November 23, 2011, to November 28, 2011.

Professor Yoo will feature her oil painting 인연/Affinity at both exhibitions.

“We are very excited for Professor Yoo and her accomplishments,” says Carl Wallnau, Associate Professor of Theatre and Chair of the Communication and Fine Arts Department.  “She is extremely creative and we are thrilled the world is going to be able to see her work.”

Professor Yoo has been a member of the faculty and the Associate Director of the Office of International Programs since 1996.
