Phishing Alert!

Dear Campus Community,

There has been an increase in phishing emails as of the past two weeks. These emails claim to be from the Centenary College Helpdesk. DO NOT REPLY TO THESE MESSAGES! Already replied to one? Change your password immediately and you will be ok. The Helpdesk will never be used for your password or personal information.

If you suspect an email to be fraudulent or spam, please do the following:
               

FROM OUTLOOK…

  1. Open a new email message and address it to abuse@centenarycollege.edu
  2. Then drag the suspected email to the “body” area of the new email, this will make the suspected message an attachment 
  3. After the suspected message has been attached, send the email and we will analyze it and update the filters
  4. Delete the email

FROM WEBMAIL… (Only works from Internet Explorer)    

  1. Open the spam message
  2. Select “Message Details”
  3. Copy the entire contents of the “Internet Mail Headers” box
  4. Close the “Message Details” pop up and then select the “forward” button 
  5. Paste the “Internet Mail Headers” info you copied into the message field and then forward the message to abuse@centenarycollege.edu 
  6. Delete the email
