Centenary College has offered accelerated A.A., B.S. and M.B.A. degrees through its Centenary Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS) program in the Metro Park area since 2005 to better serve professionals in Central New Jersey. In addition, the Metro Park site has recently started offering students the option to pursue an accelerated master’s degree in Leadership and Public Administration, as well as an accelerated bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice.
Launched in 1999, CAPS provides a unique format for working adults that enables them to complete their college degrees in less time than traditional programs. Intensive in nature, CAPS classes meet one day a week with study group participation on a weekly basis. The curriculum combines theory and practical experience and classes are in session year-round. To date, over 2000 individuals are CAPS graduates.
The new location affords the College more classroom space, plus offers the institution a more recognizable location with a Centenary street monument sign with the College logo located by the Center.
In addition to the Metro Park Learning Center, CAPS is offered on Centenary’s Hackettstown campus, the Parsippany Learning Center and various corporate sites throughout New Jersey.
“This is yet another important opportunity to better serve our current and future students,” says Diane Finnan, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Strategic Branding. “Since we opened the Metro Park site six years ago, we have been able to effectively serve the educational needs of professionals in that area. This new location will enable us to continue to be an attractive educational option for those interested in excelling in their careers.”
Founded in 1867 by the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church, Centenary College is an independent, coeducational liberal arts and career studies college distinguished by an accomplished faculty, small class size and diverse student body. Centenary is the only baccalaureate and master’s degree granting institution in northwest New Jersey.
Centenary College’s main campus is located in Hackettstown, N.J., with its equestrian facility in Washington Township (Morris County). The College’s Center for Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS) offers accelerated degree completion programs in Parsippany, with an additional facility in Iselin, and at corporate sites throughout New Jersey.
