HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (September 24, 2010) – The Centenary women’s basketball team is looking for a few good fans to become a member of their Sixth Man Club, co-head coach Lorie Khalil announced.

With a donation of $25, each Sixth Man Club member receives name recognition in the team’s 2010-11 media guide and a long-sleeve grey Centenary women’s basketball t-shirt.

“We are very excited about the future of the program and we want everyone to be a part of it,” said Khalil. “Every good team has an outstanding sixth man, an unselfish player who does whatever it takes to help the team succeed. This is a principle upon which the Centenary Women’s Basketball Sixth Man Club was founded. I invite everyone to actively participate and be a pivotal part of our success.”

The women’s basketball team had a great season in 2009-2010, on and off the court. The Lady Cyclones finished 15-11 overall and upset three-time defending conference champion Cabrini on the road en route to their first appearance in the conference tournament semifinals since 2000-01. The squad finished the season as the nation’s scoring leader for the second consecutive year, averaging 83.0 points per game.

Off the court, Centenary was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll after posting a team GPA of 3.613, the second-highest mark in the nation.
