International Education Week 2011
Centenary College’s International Student Organization (ISO) is hosting an International Education Week during the week of Nov. 13, 2011. The purpose of International Education Week is to educate Centenary students and others about internationalization and globalization and engaging them in different activities through the ISO. Members of the community are encouraged to look at these calendar of events and are invited to participate in the festivities. The events vary and should appeal to a diverse audience.
International Education Week 2011: Encountering with Different Cultures!
Date: November 14th – November 17th
Time: 12:00-1:30PM & 5:00-6:30PM
Venue: The David & Carol Lackland Center
*Expose yourself to traditions
1. Traditional costumes Exploring traditional costumes from different countries
; You will find our international students in different countries’ traditional costumes. You can take photos with them as well
2. Your name written in different languages
; This is a calligraphy booth. Our international students are going to write American names in three different languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
*Expose yourself to other pop-culture
1. What’s New in the other side of America
; There are several booths of different countries. International students will be introducing their countries’ new cultures such as pop songs, dramas, movies etc.
2. What do people Eat in the other side of America
; This is a booth you can learn about different food. International students will explain about famous food, ingredients, and seasonings.
* International gift shop: Hot item!! – ISO’s Special T-Shirts & Hoodies
; There are special designed T-shirts and Hoddies. The shirts have “Centenary College” in ten different languages.
