Garriques To Be Inducted Into GCC Sports Hall Of Fame

Centenary wrestling head coach John Garriques will be inducted into the GCC Sports Hall of Fame.

SEWELL, N.J. (September 20, 2010) – Centenary wrestling coach John Garriques is one of 11 alumni who will be inducted to the Gloucester County College Sports Hall of Fame, the school announced.

The school will hold the 2010 GCC Sports Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony for Garriques and the other inductees on Sept. 24 at Adelphia’s Restaurant in Deptford, N.J. The reception will start at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner and the Hall of Fame Induction at 6:00 p.m. The Roadrunner Alumni Reunion will begin at 9:00 p.m.

Garriques was GCC’s second Individual National Champion in wrestling in 1998 and helped lead the Roadrunners to two National Championships in 1998 and 2000. He will be joined by his former coach at Gloucester, Mike Lamb, who was an All-American wrestler at GCC in 1988.
