Cyclones Drop Road Contest at Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (September 5, 2010) – The Centenary College men’s soccer team dropped to 0-3 on the season after a 5-0 loss to Muhlenberg College as part of the Moravian/Muhlenberg tournament. The Mules improved to 2-0 with the victory.

Muhlenberg took control of the contest early by scoring four goals in the first half. Two of the goals were by junior forward, Cody Antonini, giving him a total of four on the season. Freshman Jonathan Schauer and senior Mike Williams each scored their first goal of the season before intermission to give the mules a commanding 4-0 lead at half.

The Cyclones were never able to make a game of it in the second half as the Mules outshot Centenary 21-3. Senior goalkeeper Jason Daniels recorded three saves to record the shutout for Muhlenberg. Junior Andrew Pinnella (Brielle, N.J./Manasquan) led the Cyclones with two shots, both on goal. Jimmy Corey (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) also tallied a shot on goal for the Cyclones.

The Cyclones return to action on Saturday, Sept. 11 when they host Penn State – Altoona at 1:00pm in the first game of the Centenary College Classic.
