Centenary College's COO and CFO to Speak at New Jersey Education Conference

Hackettstown, N.J. – South Orange resident and Centenary College Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Roger Anderson will speak at Building New Jersey’s Future - Higher Education Capital Construction Conference on June 8, 2012.  The conference is sponsored by the New Jersey Alliance for Action.

The Alliance is a nonprofit, nonpartisan statewide coalition of over 2,500 business, labor, professional, academic and government leaders.  It is an advocate of investment in infrastructure for New Jersey’s economy, environment and quality of life.  Since its creation in 1974, it has worked closely with each New Jersey Governor, the Cabinet, the Legislature and local government, as well as its membership, to create funding and secure permits for road, bridge and rail improvements, water projects, school construction, aviation enhancements, shore preservations, business expansion and other key infrastructure investments. 
Anderson is planning to talk about the continuous need for small capital projects. 

“There is a steady stream of projects both for small, necessary upgrades to the campus and to address deferred maintenance.  These projects are funded out of operations or medium-sized gifts.  They don’t get the headlines of big, bond-funded projects, but their regular nature should be of interest to conference attendees,” says Anderson. 

Anderson has served as Chief Financial Officer at Centenary College since August 2010 and became Chief Operating Officer in March 2011.  Previous positions that he has held include: Executive Director of the New Jersey Educational Facilities Authority; Executive Vice President for Elmrock Capital, Inc.; Deputy Assistant Secretary of Federal Finance at the United States Treasury Department; and Deputy Comptroller for Finance for the New York City Comptroller’s Office.  He was also a lawyer at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton; and a Clerk to the Honorable Daniel M. Friedman, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Claims. 

He holds an A.B. degree magna cum laude from Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences and a J.D. degree cum laude from the University of Chicago Law School.
