Hackettstown, N.J. – Centenary College’s School of Professional Studies is launching a new BA in Sociology with a concentration in Organizational Studies. This program will combine specific sociology and business courses intended to prepare and enrich professional careers in business or nonprofit organizations.  Those who graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an Organizational Studies concentration are equipped to work in multifaceted environments as the skills and knowledge garnered can be broadly applied in a variety of settings.

As a multidisciplinary area of study, this degree prepares people for careers in management, criminal justice, human resources, training and human development, public advocacy, marketing, government services and much more. It is a degree that opens doors.
“This program will afford many people the opportunity for advancement and will help individuals realize their potential,” says Dr. Deirdre Letson, Dean for School of Professional Studies at Centenary College.  “It is designed for the working adult and is taught by highly qualified instructors who emphasize a real-world application of learning.”

First established in 1999, the School of Professional Studies provides an entrepreneurial approach to the educational experience by offering professional studies to an adult population, allowing students to select the modality most conducive to their busy lifestyle.  Students can take classes in a variety of formats: in the classroom, online or through a blended approach, in which courses are conducted both ways.

The curriculum combines theory and practical experience, allowing students to apply knowledge acquired immediately.  Having conferred over 2,600 A.A., B.S., and M.B.A. degrees, the School of Professional Studies serves as an inclusive and collaborative learning community dedicated to preparing adult students to progress further in society and to contribute directly to the state’s economic engine.

The new BA in Sociology with a concentration in Organizational Studies is starting on August 19, 2012, so call today to enroll at (877) 437-3746.

Founded in 1867 by the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church, Centenary College’s academic program integrates a solid liberal arts foundation with a strong career orientation. This mix is designed to provide an educational experience that prepares students to succeed in the increasingly global and interdependent world.

Centenary College’s School for Professional Studies has locations in Parsippany and Edison and serves corporate sites throughout New Jersey. Centenary College’s main campus is located in Hackettstown, N.J., with its equestrian facility in Washington Township (Morris County).  The School of International Programs recruits international students for study at Centenary and Centenary students for study abroad.
