Centenary College School of International Programs to Host Music Night with Hackettstown Community Band
Hackettstown, New Jersey – For the fifth year, the Centenary College School of International Programs presents a Music Night with the Hackettstown Community Band at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, in the George H. Whitney Chapel of the Edward W. Seay Administration Building. Light refreshments will be provided after the concert. Members of the community are invited to attend this free event.
The Hackettstown Community Band has been a continuously organized group in Hackettstown since 1947. The Band provides musicians of all social and musical background the opportunity to rehearse, perform and expand their musical skills. Its membership ranges from talented junior high school students to seasoned musicians who play professionally, and it features a full range of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. In 1992, it was incorporated in the State of New Jersey as a not-for-profit corporation.
“This event is designed to encourage members of the community to participate in an enjoyable evening at the College, plus allow our own students the opportunity to listen to this fine community band,” says Dr. Joseph P. Linskey, Dean of the School of International Programs. “I am pleased that we can offer this event again this year.”
