12/03/2013, 09:55 AM

Hackettstown, N.J. – Centenary College’s Education Department and Taylor Memorial Library at Centenary College will offer the final “Storytime in the Library!” for this semester at 9 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013. This opportunity is free and open to the public.  It designed for children ages 3 to 5.

Students from the Centenary College’s Academic Foundation Course for first year students, Those Who Can, Teach, serve as instructors, as well as students who are enrolled in the Foundations of Literacy course.

“This is a win-win situation for all involved,” says Dr. Simon Saba, Associate Professor of Education at Centenary College.  “This project provides students with experience teaching children well before their student-teaching and practicum work, plus it benefits the children who attend. This has been a successful project this semester and hope people will turn out for our final session this Friday.”

Taylor Memorial Library at Centenary College also houses Greene’s Beans Café, which is equipped with a full coffee bar, plus muffins, snacks and juice for the children.
“Storytime in the Library!” took place every Friday since the beginning of the Fall 2013 semester in September.
