Care Kit Collection To Benefit Philippines

11/21/2013, 12:43 PM

Personal hygiene is one of the top needs for people who are suffering from what Typhoon Haiyan left behind on the islands of the Philippines. Please help by donating a Care Kit. This package may not seem like much, but it will offer the first line of defense against the spread of disease and illness.  See below on how to assemble a package.  Packages will be collected at the Employee and Student Holiday Luncheon on Friday, December 6th from noon – 2pm in the Cafeteria.

1 hand towel
1 washcloth
1 wide-toothed comb
Shampoo 4-15 ozs
1 bar soap (individually wrapped)
1 toothbrush (individually wrapped)
Toothpaste 2-6 ozs
1 box standard size adhesive bandage
2 one-gallon resealable plastic bag (Ziploc bags)
2 sandwich sized resealable plastic bags
$2.00 to help defray the cost of shipping

Place bar of soap in sandwich bag

Place adhesive bandages into sandwich bag

Place all hygiene products (including the $2.00) in the first one-gallon bag.

Seal it.

Then place the filled bag upside-down into the second one-gallon bag and seal it.

Drop this package where the drop-off boxes are located. We are partnering with Trinity United Methodist Church.  These kits will all be shipped to Heart to Heart International Organization (HHI) in Kansas City, Kansas. From their warehouse these packages will then be shipped to the Philippines. If you have any questions, please contact Tiffany Kushner at (908) 852-1400 x 2426 or visit the HHI website at www.hearttoheart.org for more info.
