Back Barn Resotration Project!
Dear Faculty and Staff,
Thank you for your response to the first email about the Back Barn Restoration Project at the Equestrian Center. The project starts next week – can you feel the excitement?
- If you have already volunteered - thank you and I’ll be sending you and email with more information this week.
- If you responded that you would like to help, but hadn’t decided on dates yet – please check your calendar and let me know when you can help. PLEASE CHECK DATES WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR FIRST.
- If you missed the first email – please see below.
Here are the details:
- Who: We need YOU! Bring a few friends, family members, your dog-walker, your dentist… you get the idea! We need 10 to 12 volunteers per day; and will provide a lunch and beverages for volunteers. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR FIRST.
- When: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from Wednesday, July 6 - Saturday, August 27 (barring any unforeseen issues). Start time is 8:30 a.m., we break at noon for lunch and we end the day at 4:00 p.m.
- Why: The Equestrian Center impacts 140 full-time students, 40 TRAC clients with disabilities, 20 Centenary student instructors-in-training, and 30 community volunteers. Without the Back Barn - the Center’s “command post” - academic and community programs will be jeopardized. With the help of volunteers, a renovated barn will be complete in time for the Fall 2011 semester.
- What else: A foreman from Morris Habitat for Humanity will lead volunteers each day. We will document the progress of the project through photographs that will be displayed on the Project’s Facebook page (Centenary College Back Barn Restoration Project). When the project is complete, all volunteers will be invited back for a ribbon cutting and thank-you ceremony.
We need volunteers to sign up today – your help will make this project a success.
I’m here if you have any questions or need more information.
Thanks!
Simone
