A message for Faculty and Staff
09/29/2010, 03:01 PM
Dear colleagues and friends:
First of all, let me welcome you back for what I know will be another exciting year at Centenary College. As always, the College leadership remains committed to changing the lives of our students and the community for the better. I thank you for all you do, and all you have done, in service of that cause.
Each and every one of you is responsible, through your investment of time, talent and other contributions, for the success we have experienced in recent years, and what I know will be a bright future at Centenary.
That said, I urge you to invest in our students in another way: through your support of the Centenary Fund. As you may know, tuition dollars fall short of the actual cost to educate our students, and the Centenary Fund helps to close that gap, underwriting the College’s annual operating budget so that we can continue to offer our students the highest-quality programs. I am proud to say that last year, 80 faculty and staff members made gifts totaling nearly $30,000. I know that, even in these challenging times, we can do even better this year!
Your gift to the Centenary Fund sends a message to our alumni, parents and friends – as well as our students – that the entire College community is committed to the success of Centenary and its students. I am always proud to report to the Board of Trustees and the rest of our leadership team just how well our faculty and staff are aligned with the College’s goals. Employee giving is also a major factor in further philanthropic investment by vital independent donors. That is why your participation is so important!
Even a $50 pledge goes a long way, providing such necessities as a case of glass vials for a science lab, or a month of food for a horse in our Equine Studies program, or even a case of athletic tape for our student-athletes!
