Library Printing Tips

It is environmentally unsound to print excessively, so select double-sided printouts whenever possible. Limit printing of PowerPoint presentations by using the "handouts" feature in PowerPoint: in the print window, select "handouts" from the "Print what" drop-down menu; then choose "3 slides per page" from the "Handouts" drop-down menu to the right.

Be mindful of the number of pages to be printed. For example, users can scroll down a website to get a sense of its size or read the abstract of a database article to determine the number of pages.

Do not print multiple copies.

Be considerate of others--large print jobs can cause delays at the printer. This is particularly bothersome for students who try to print assignments immediately before class.

Print jobs deemed excessively large will be canceled.

Taylor Memorial Library discards printouts after three days.

The public is charged US$0.25 per page for printouts.
