![]() PAUL ROCHEPaul Roche, who was a former Poet-in-Residence here at Centenary College, died on October 30, 2007. He was 91 years old. Mr. Roche was one of the last surviving members of the "Bloomsbury Group" , a group of avant-garde artists and writers of whom Virginia Woolf was one of the most reconizable members. Mr. Roche was the author of several novels himself, and was also famous for his translations which included the works of Plautus, Aeschylus, Euripides and Sappho. Mr. Roche also wrote the screenplay for the film “Oedipus the King,” based on his translation of the Sophocles play which was released in 1967.
