Microsoft Excel Add-ins
An add-in is a supplemental program that adds custom commands or custom features to Microsoft Office. To use it in Excel, however, you need to load it first.
Be sure to create a New Folder, then unzip the appropriate attached files to the New Folder for use.

Centenary College Helpdesk supports the following Add-ins:
- RiskSim
- SolverTable
- TreePlan
- SensIt
These Add-ins can be supported with the following Microsoft Excel Applications when running on a Windows Operating System.
Use the same 2007.zip files for Excel 2010 and 2007.
- Microsoft Excel 2003
- Microsoft Excel 2007
- Microsoft Excel 2010
Please follow the instructions below for installation:
If you have Microsoft Excel 2003 save the Excel 2003 add-ins.zip file to your desktop.
if you have Microsoft Excel 2007 or 2010 save the Excel 2007 add-ins.zip file to your desktop.
- Create a new folder on your desktop
- Open the appropriate .zip document and unzip to the contents (by cutting and pasting files within the zip folder) to the new folder on your desktop
- Proceed to the next step with the correct version of Microsoft Office
For Microsoft Office Excel 2003:
- On the Tools menu, click Add-Ins.
- In the Add-Ins available box, select the check box next to the add-in desired, and then click OK.
- Click Browse.
- Locate the Files that are within the new folder on your desktop.
- Repeat Process until all Add-ins have been added from the new folder. In the Add-Ins available box, select the Solver Add-in check box, and then click OK.
NOTE: If you get prompted that the Add-in is not currently installed on your computer, click Yes to install it. - After you load the Solver Add-in, the Solver command is available in the Analysis group on the Data tab. Ignore and cancel any password prompts asked for by Add-ins.
For Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and 2010:
- Click the Microsoft Office Button in the upper left, and then click Excel Options.
- Click Add-Ins, and then in the Manage box, select Excel Add-ins.
- Click Go.
- Click Browse.
- Locate the Files that are within the new folder on your desktop.
- Repeat Process until all Add-ins have been added from the new folder. In the Add-Ins available box, select the Solver Add-in check box, and then click OK.
NOTE: If you get prompted that the Add-in is not currently installed on your computer, click Yes to install it. - After you load the Solver Add-in, the Solver command is available in the Analysis group on the Data tab. Ignore and cancel any password prompts asked for by Add-ins.
There may be some differences with newer versions of Excel (locations for the Add-ins Tab or Excel options).
