The new high capacity laser printers at the Library front desk and in the HUB are now available for use by all Centenary College users who have network domain accounts.
To install this printer, you will need to be on campus, and logged into the network.
Windows XP installation instructions
1) When logged into the windows desktop. Go to the “Start” menu and select “Printers and Faxes” to open the Printers and Faxes control panel. If you have removed this from your start menu, or are using the Windows 2000 style interface, you may also reach this from the Windows Control Panel.
2) In the “Printers and Faxes” window, go to the File menu and click on the “Add Printer” command. This will start the Add Printer Wizard.
3) In the wizard, click next to bypass the welcome screen.
4) Select “A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer” and click next again.
5) Select “Find a printer in the directory” and click next again.
6) This will open a search window that will let you locate published network printers on campus. In this case, enter “HUB” or “Library” in the name field and click the “Find Now” button.
7) At the bottom of this window, select the “Library Front Desk 8150DN” or “HUB LaserJet 8150” and click OK.
8) At this point, your computer will contact the print server and automatically download the correct driver for this printer and configure it. There may be an extended pause while it does this if you are on the wireless network.
9) As a final option, you will be asked if you would like to make this your default printer. This is up to you.
After you have completed these steps you can, if you wish, install the second centralized printing station on your laptop. This will allow you access to both printers from anywhere on campus.
