Homeschooling and Centenary

The effects of choosing the right college will influence you throughout your educational career.  This decision will affect whether or not you enjoy earning your degree, your level of success, and your motivation to learn. Happiness, social interactions, and preparation for dealing with the workforce environment post-graduation can also be affected.

At Centenary College we understand the needs and unique characteristics of homeschooled students who are making the transition to college. Our small, private school environment provides you with the tools needed to succeed at college.

Centenary College understands that:

Personalized education is important.

With a 17:1 student-to-faculty ratio, our small, private, non-profit college ensures you'll receive individual attention from professors and staff who truly care.  You're a person, never a number.

Education doesn't need to be institutional.

You won’t find lecture halls or courses being taught by teaching assistants here. Our students are an active and integral part of the process. You won’t have to wait to pursue your passion either; you'll take courses for your major during your freshman year.

Applying course concepts to real life helps you learn.

Hands-on learning, from professors with real-world expertise, is essential to gaining knowledge that you can put to use when you graduate. Our strong Career Development Center offers amazing internships that assist you in finding a job after graduation.

You need to develop your individual talents and interests.

Leadership opportunities, such as NCAA Division III athletics and more than 30 clubs and student organizations, allow you to grow and stand out. Enactus is an example of a student group where you can apply business principles learned in class. Recently they went to Guapi, Columbia to assist those in need by helping local artisans establish a sustainable business.

A safe and supportive environment is important to learning.

Our safe, 107-acre campus features a diverse community of welcoming students who'll make you feel right at home.

A well-rounded education should be affordable.

We prepare students for the careers of today and tomorrow through a diverse liberal arts education. With many scholarships, awards, and grants available, Centenary can also be very affordable.
