Missing Information

Completing your FAFSA is your first step to applying for financial aid. In many cases, there may be additional documents or forms that our office requires in order to complete your financial aid application and ensure that you are eligible for your awards. This process is called the Verification Process.

In many cases, the documents that we are requesting are in response to a request from the federal government. About 30 percent of students are selected by the Department of Education for the Verification Process.

How Verification Affects You

If you are selected for Verification, your financial aid awards are an estimate.  Yoru financial aid awards be finalized after verification is completed.

When reviewing your eligibility for financial aid, we must also resolve any information that is determined to be conflicting. A common source of conflicting information is when a family reports no assets such as investments or savings account information, but there are dividends and interest reported on the tax return transcripts. If we come across any conflicting data during verification or when reviewing your financial aid application, we may need to ask for additional information for clarification.

You can review the documents that our office has received as well as documents that remain outstanding on NetPartner.
