Biography

Margot is 2006 graduate of the West Chester University of Pennsylvania where she received her B.A. in Political Science. A fourth generation equestrian, Margot has been competing on the A USEF Hunter/Jumper Circuit since she was 10 years old. She has since had a successful showing career in the hunter, jumper and equitation rings, qualifying several times for indoors and other finals.

In 2004 she took a hiatus from the equestrian community in order to pursue a career in financial sales but eventually returned to her true passion as a working student for notable hunter rider and trainer Sissy Wickes of Springtown Farm in Malvern, PA. Following a successful season in the jumper ring with Sissy in Wellington, FL, Margot was asked to ride for Olympic Team Member, Nona Garson’s International Sporthorse Auction and eventually returned to New Jersey with Nona and The Ridge Farm as her full-time rider and barn manager.

During her time with The Ridge, Margot spent much of her time assistant teaching, working with young stock and managing The Ridge @ Asbury Series of Horseshows. It was during this time that she realized her main passion was in the barn as manager so in 2011 she sat out from both competition and teaching to focus on developing her management skill set. In 2012 she was able to petition the USEF to receive her Amateur Card and in March she began her career with Centenary College as their Facilities Manager. Margot still competes in the hunter ring and in 2012 finished 8th in the $250,000 Hunter Prix Final of Saugerties, NY. She resides in Califon, NJ with her fiancé, Bastian and their dog, Wiley.
