Academic Accomplishments

  • Master of Science in Animal Science: specializing in Equine Reproduction, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University


Professor Munz's thesis was titled Parathyroid Hormone and Calcium Interactions in the Periparturient Mare. 

Professor Munz has taught a variety of courses at Centenary College such as Academic Foundations, Practical Horse Management, Basic Concepts of Training the Horse, Breeding Management, and Equine Studies Senior Seminar.

Professor Munz is also a United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Category 1 Steward and Schooling Supervisor and works at many horse shows in an official capacity on the East Coast, including the USEF Talent Search Finals.

While at Centenary, Professor Munz was honored with the 2004-2005 United Methodist Exemplary Teaching Award and was a Department Chair for 15 years.

In addition, Professor Munz heads the fundraising projects for the Equine Department and has been responsible for completing raising funds to complete such projects as new footing in the USET Arena and small indoor arena, the Pabst Barn Renovation, and new fencing for many paddocks.

Professor Munz has two daughters that compete in the Children’s Hunter and Equitation Divisions.
