Diversity at Centenary College
Centenary College has publicly expressed recognition of, and dedication to its diverse student body and to preparing all students for a global world experience. The Diversity Circle embraces this commitment and - consistent with Centenary’s Vision and Global Perspective - seeks to strengthen the inclusiveness of the College with a focused, three-year plan for Diversity.
Our Mission
Centenary College is known for recognizing, valuing and embracing the individuality of each community member. To this end, the Community is dedicated to:
- Providing messages that welcome a diverse community of new members in all internal and external marketing, and in orientations for new students, faculty, administration and staff.
- Supporting the continuous development of a highly diverse curriculum combined with classroom practices that honor cultural and individual learning differences.
- Increasing the opportunities for faculty, administration and staff to engage in on-going learning to increase cultural competencies.
- Offering students co-curricular opportunities which are intentionally designed to honor and celebrate cultural differences.
- Educating internal and external constituencies about Centenary’s diverse community through cultural workshops and special event series.
- Acknowledging Centenary College as a global spiritual community, embracing all religions.
- Utilizing a standard communication model designed to help the community address sensitive issues as they arise.
