Employer Information

Students applying for an internship must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and completed forty credits. We will forward selected résumés to you and you will conduct an interview to determine if the candidate is a suitable fit. You are not obligated in any way to accept the student if you are not satisfied with the interview results.

The student is required to work one hundred, thirty-three hours to complete a four-credit internship. Internships may be paid or unpaid, but academic credit will be granted in either case. Scheduling of these hours is arranged to meet both the needs of the employer and the classroom schedule of the student.

Employer Responsibilities include:

  1. Employer agrees to fill out the employer portion of the Internship Registration form including a brief paragraph describing the student’s responsibilities.

  2. The employer agrees to provide the student with new employee orientation.

  3. The employer agrees to provide a safe work environment and adequate supervision.

  4. The employer agrees to contact the Internship Coordinator if there is disagreement between the internship supervisor and intern.

  5. The employer agrees to allow for a scheduled site visit.

  6. The employer agrees to complete a performance evaluation upon the completion of the student’s internship, which is required for the student’s final grade.
