Is the Centenary College CAPS Program accredited?

 

-Yes. Centenary College is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Founded in 1867, Centenary College is an independent college offering Master's, Bachelor and Associate degree programs in the Liberal Arts and other career areas. The Center for Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS) is the latest addition to Centenary's curriculum offerings

 

Why do I have to take my last course at the Hackettstown Campus?

 

-In order to satisfy the residency requirement from our accrediting institution, one course must be taken at the main campus in Hackettstown. We have scheduled that as your last course in the hopes that this requirement will change in the future

 

What is a resource fee?

 

-Centenary College charges a nominal fee for each course. This fee covers expenses associated with the CAPS program, such as: module development, web site maintenance, library database, computer lab, resource room, graphing calculators, etc...

 

What will be printed on my diploma?

 

-Your diploma will be the same as any other Centenary College student

 

What kind of class work should I expect?

 

-You can expect a variety of work, including group projects, exams, research papers, take-home tests, presentations, and class participation

 

What is my weekly time commitment?

 

-4 hours of classroom time

-4 hours with your study group

-8 to 10 hours of individual study time

 

How can I manage my study time?

 

-Break up assignments into sections

-Get yourself organized

-Give yourself time to build a routine

-Don't do all your work on the weekend

 

What are the different ways I can meet with my study group?

 

-Most study groups meet in person, particularly at the start of the program. Some

other options are:

-Teleconference

-Fax

-Phone

-Email

-Online

 

What is the attendance policy?

 

-Attendance is mandatory in both the classes and the study groups. There are no excuses absences. If you miss a class, contact you professor and study group, and come to the next class prepared

 

When will I get my grades?

 

-You will receive your grades approximately one week after the end of your course either by mail or in class
