Lorie Khalil enters her fifth season as head coach of the Centenary women’s basketball program. Last season was her best thus far, as she guided the team to a 17-9 record, including a 12-4 mark in the CSAC, and the program’s first-ever berth to the ECAC Tournament. The team finished the season ranked first out of 435 schools in scoring, averaging 81.5 points per game. Kristen Camuso finished first in the nation out of 500 in three-pointers per game. Khalil improved her career record to 53-49. The team finished first in the CSAC North Division to reach the conference tournament for the fifth consecutive season, but fell in the opening round to Cedar Crest. Thanks to a 17-8 overall record, Centenary earned a berth to the ECAC South Tournament. In their opening game, the Lady Cyclones fell in a close match, 79-71 at Manhattanville. Camuso earned First Team All-CSAC and Second Team All-ECAC honors, while Jen Vasta was named to the All-CSAC Second Team. With all of its players returning next season, the future is bright for Centenary women’s basketball. In 2007-08, the Lady Cyclones reached the conference playoffs for the fourth consecutive year, finishing the season at 15-10. This was the first winning season for the Lady Cyclones since the 2000-01 campaign. The team also had their first All-Conference First Team performer in senior Stephanie Roberts. Roberts was also named Second Team All-Mid Atlantic Region by D3Hoops. Khalil is a 2003 graduate of Moravian College, where she was a two-year member of the women’s basketball team. Prior to transferring to Moravian, Khalil originally attended Delaware Valley College where she also played two seasons for its women’s program. While at DVC, she was a participant on their 2000-01 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Region Championship team. Before her college basketball career, she was a very successful three-sport athlete at Catasauqua High School, in Catasauqua, Pa. Khalil has been coaching at various basketball camps for the past nine years, including the University of Connecticut, University of Maryland, Villanova University and WNBA New York Liberty camp. Khalil was a Special Ability extra in the inspirational women’s basketball movie “Our Lady of Victory." She has also been featured in Garden State Woman, the New Jersey based magazine which highlights educators and business woman of the state. In addition to her basketball coaching responsibilities at Centenary, Khalil is also the Director of Field Management.
Jen Behagg enters her fourth season as an assistant coach for the Centenary College women's basketball program. Before joining the Cyclones staff, Behagg was a standout point guard at Moravian College, in Bethlehem, Pa. During her playing career as a Greyhound she was a four-year starter and a team captain during her senior season. Behagg led Moravian to three Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championship games and three ECAC Tournament appearances. She was a member of the Moravian College team who set an NCAA team record of 35 consecutive free throws made in one game. In 2003-04, Behagg was named the team’s most valuable player. She was a three-time selection to the All-Tournament team at the Starters-Moravian College Winter Classic. Presently, Behagg is in second-place among the all-time assists leaders in Moravian College history. Behagg graduated from Moravian in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is a graduate of Pope John High school in Sparta, N.J., where she also had a standout basketball career as a high school player. Behagg currently resides in Hamburg, N.J. and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Management at Centenary.
Joseph Kozoh enters his first year as a member of Centenary’s coaching staff. Kozoh comes to the Lady Cyclones after a three year stint at Delaware Valley Regional High School as the head coach of the freshman girl’s basketball team and an assistant on the varsity squad. Moreover, for the past two years he has served as head coach of the Hunterdon United AAU team. Kozoh has over 28 years of coaching experience with players of all ages. Prior to his job at Delaware Valley Regional, he worked for two years as the head coach of the Kingwood Township boy’s basketball team while also serving as Kingwood Township Parks and Recreation basketball camp coordinator and head instructor. Before that, Kozoh served as Manville Recreation girl’s basketball coach for players in grades six through eight. Kozoh attended East Stroudsburg University from 1977-1982, where he studied Health and Physical Education. He has taken the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Coaches Fundamental Course and the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) Coaching Principles Training. Kozoh is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance and the National Federation of High School Coaches Association, and he is certified in CPR, AED and First Aid training.
