The event will begin at 11:00 a.m., and will include breakfast, greens fees and a cart, a cocktail hour/dinner and tournament gifts. Panther Valley Golf & Country Club was originally a part of the estate of Clendenin James Ryan Jr., grandson of Thomas "Fortune" Ryan, a New York City financier who was recorded as the last of the robber barons of Wall Street. In 1967, Robert Trent Jones was retained to design an 18-hole championship quality golf course. After many meetings, the course development was started in 1968. Nine holes were opened in the Spring of 1969 and by October the full eighteen holes were played. For directions and more information log on to www.panthervalleyclub.com.

Registration breakfast will begin at 9:30am on Oct. 8. The shotgun start tournament will kick off at 11:00am, followed by a cocktail hour and dinner with awards and the raffle/silent auction at 4:00pm.

Habitat for Humanity is a charitable organization that strives to build affordable housing at no-profit through a combination of volunteer labor, 'sweat-equity' and no-interest mortgages. Habitat acts in partnership with the community as a diverse group, including individuals, partner families, faith groups, civic organizations, local schools and businesses, reaching out from Christian roots across denominational, faith, economic and racial lines to bring together people who are concerned for their neighbors. Habitat works to develop and empower individuals and communities through the construction of simple, decent homes.

In addition to supporting Habitat for Humanity, the 2010 Bike to Build is dedicated to the late Rev. Chad Miller, who was Associate Pastor for Mission Outreach at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington until his untimely death last year.
