Elaine Wessel, an equine and business major from Indianapolis, Indiana, chose to attend Centenary College due to the highly reputable and well respected equestrian program and teams available, as well as the college’s prime location within the equine industry. With the aid of her advisor, Elaine is attempting to earn an Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and an Associate’s Degree in Equine Studies in only two and half years. Outside of classes, Elaine is a member of the IHSA and Hunter/Jumper riding teams and also works in the Admissions Office at Centenary. As a Presidential Scholar, Elaine is grateful for the chances that the program has offered her, including the ability to co-found the Centenary College Dance Marathon which will take place next year. Her goals during her college career at Centenary are to network as much as possible within different aspects of the equine business industry as well as to uphold a standard of academic and leadership excellence. Following graduation, Elaine envisions herself working for an equine organization such as USEF, the Kentucky Horse Park, or the World Equestrian Games.
